Alexis grew up in Northern California training in jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap, lyrical, hip hop, and acrobatics at Xtreme Force Dance Company. She went on to receive a BFA in Dance from San Diego State University where she studied modern and contemporary techniques alongside an array of dance theory subjects including anatomy for dancers, dance history, somatics, and pedagogy.

She was also a member of the nationally ranked SDSU Dance Team where she developed a passion for pom technique and sideline dance. She danced as an NFL Cheerleader for the San Francisco 49ers for 2 seasons and got to collaborate with esteemed choreographers from across the country and perform alongside prominent artists during halftime shows and special events.

She has also traveled to New York City to train in precision dance, musical theater, contemporary, and tap at institutions such as the Joffrey Ballet School and Broadway Dance Center. Alexis believes that her dance training has equipped her with the tools to succeed both on and off the dance floor, which fuels her passion for teaching.
